The Pulitzer Prize winning author, Beth Henley, brings us another explosively funny play. Carnelle is furiously rehearsing for the Miss Firecracker Contest, which is being held on the 4th of July.

Her hope of leaving the small town of Brookhaven in a blaze of glory is complicated by the arrival of her cousin, Elain, a former Miss Firecracker, and Delmount, Elain's eccentric brother who has recently been released from a mental institution.

Add to the mixture a touchingly awkward seamstress named Popeye and several other nutty characters and you end up with a wonderfully comic play full of suspense, conflict, and hope.
