Audition Day Information!

DAY ONE – VOCAL AUDITIONS: Arrive at 4:30pm with a signed copy of the audition packet or fill one out upon arrival. Sit in the lobby and make friends until it is your turn to audition! Slate by stating your name, age, the character you are auditioning for, and if you are willing to accept any other roles. Then, state the song and monologue you will be performing. An example slate: “Hello! My name is Jane Doe, I am sixteen years old, I am auditioning for the role of Laurey, and I am happy to accept any role seen fit. I will be singing ‘Out of My Dreams’ and performing Laurey’s monologue. Thank you!”. Then, you will sing and perform the monologue from memory. You may be asked to read for another role or be given a callback.

DAY TWO – DANCE AUDITIONS: Arrive at 4:30pm in comfortable clothing and sneakers, character shoes, or jazz shoes. Bring a water bottle. You will learn a 16 to 32 bar dance audition as a group, then perform it in small groups for the casting panel. If not given a callback, you will be dismissed. If given a callback, you will repeat your day one audition with the callback material given the previous day, then you will be dismissed.

Casting will be sent out via email. Auditioning does not guarantee being cast. If not cast, you will be notified in a separate email.

Character Breakdowns and Audition Material

Choose any 60 seconds from the song provided for the character. Practice with the following link for rehearsing, as these are the tracks provided in auditions. Ensure the track you choose is the accompaniment, not the guide vocals listed at the beginning of the playlist.
