BRCT Welcomes our New Executive Director

Welcome Sarah Shelton as Blue Ridge Community Theater’s New Executive Director

Blue Ridge Community Theater is proud to welcome Sarah Shelton as our new Executive Director. A longtime volunteer and the most recent Director of our Sunny D Children’s Theater program, Sarah has officially accepted the challenge of leading BRCT into its next chapter.

For over two decades, the theater has been her second home. Sarah’s journey began right here at the age of five, stepping on stage for the first time with Sunny D Children’s Theatre in a production of A Christmas Story. That early curiosity quickly blossomed into her lifelong passion. The stage became the place where she found her voice and discovered the transformative power of the performing arts.

As our new Executive Director, she brings that same deep-rooted love for this community and the stage back to the place where it began for her. Sarah has proven her ability to understand the critical intersection of the business of and the art of operating a community theater. She has proven that she can do it with empathy for the importance of the volunteer experience and community engagement. Spanning every facet of theater, from acting and directing to painting sets and organizing community outreach, Sarah is committed to preserving and growing the legacy of BRCT for future generations. Her dedication will ensure it remains a place where others can find their passion, just as she did.

As BRCT continues into its next phase of growth, Sarah Shelton will be an important driving force in shaping that future. We invite our patrons, volunteers, and community members to welcome her warmly and to reach out with questions or ideas for growing our sweet theater.

Sarah can be contacted at sarahs@brct.one.

And, of course, she looks forward to seeing you at our next show.
