About the Show

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical is a hilarious and heartwarming holiday show for the whole family. When the unruly Herdman kids — known as “the worst kids in the world” — show up at church and demand roles in the annual Christmas pageant, the town braces for disaster. But as rehearsals unfold, the true meaning of Christmas comes to life in the most unexpected and joyful way. Filled with catchy songs, laugh-out-loud moments, and a message of kindness and compassion, this musical adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s beloved book is a festive treat that will delight audiences of all ages.

The musical premiered in 2016 at Alabama Shakespeare Festival to rave reviews and has since been embraced by theaters across the country. While it has not won major awards, it has become a popular holiday staple for its humor, heart, and family-friendly spirit.
