About the Show
Love Letters by A.R. Gurney is a tender, bittersweet play that follows the lifelong friendship and romance of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, told entirely through the letters they exchange over fifty years. From childhood notes to adult confessions, their correspondence reveals their hopes, disappointments, humor, and deep affection, even as life’s choices and circumstances keep them apart. Simple in staging but rich in emotion, the play explores love, missed opportunities, and the enduring power of words to connect hearts across time.
Rating: PG
Content Advisory: Explores mature themes of love, divorce, infidelity, and loss with humor and tenderness.
