About the Show

Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies tells the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life beyond the streets. When publishing giants raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies his fellow “newsies” from across the city to strike for what’s right. With a score full of high-energy anthems like “Seize the Day” and “King of New York”, thrilling dance numbers, and an inspiring story of resilience and unity, Newsies is a triumphant musical that celebrates the power of young voices to spark change.

Originally based on the 1992 Disney film, Newsies premiered on Broadway in 2012 to critical and audience acclaim. The show went on to win two Tony Awards — Best Choreography and Best Original Score — and has since become a beloved hit with theaters and audiences worldwide.
